Dear SpiritSwap Community, Today, with a heavy heart, we must announce the winding down of SpiritSwap, a project that began its journey in April 2021, and which, for over two years, has been at the forefront of innovation and community engagement within the Fantom ecosystem. In these last two years, we have faced challenges that tested our resilience, determination, and commitment to our mission. We weathered the storms of bear markets, where many chose to exit Fantom, we fought valiantly to boost volume, retain traders, bring out innovations with partnerships, and ensure a thriving community. However, recent events have placed a strain on our ability to continue. The unfortunate Multichain hack has left our treasury drained, and without the means to finance essential aspects of our operation - from regular development costs to operational salaries, from monthly costs to marketing. Our primary goal has always been to serve our community, and it's with this same commitment that we wish to act transparently and responsibly. While the pain of this decision is very dear, we want to provide ample time and assistance to our community in navigating what comes next. Right now we are looking for a team to handover SpiritSwap and will be happily assisting them in their transition period if they'd like to take control/responsibility during this period. Unless we can find a team, the winding down process will happen automatically, as the treasury has run out of funds to cover the necessary operational costs. SpiritSwap will remain operational until 1st of September, offering every member of our community the chance to safely remove their liquidity. We understand that such processes can sometimes be daunting, especially with some errors popping of here and there in the server. Therefore, our moderators will be available around the clock to assist anyone facing difficulties during this period. If you need any help, please tag MODS and we will do our best help you in this process. Another note is that we will make another announcement exclusively for ConvergeX in the following days. As we pen this message, we look back at the friendships formed, the partnerships forged, and the countless moments of joy and collaboration. This journey, although very challenging, has been one of the most fulfilling endeavors, and the heart of it all was you, our community. Greetings, Spiritors! We hope you're all doing wonderfully! We're here to give you an update on the expansion project, which will hopefully address any doubts you may have. We're embarking on a special journey together as the SpiritDAO, and we are here to share some news with you! As the custodians of the DAO, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that our expansion project is launched on the best possible platform. Our aim is to provide the SpiritDAO with the most favorable conditions and maximize the benefits to our ecosystem by attracting new users. Initially, we considered launching on Canto, as that was the proposed chain. However, we had second thoughts after realizing that very few projects had launched on Canto lately and the sentiment toward it had worsened compared to our proposal. Don't misunderstand us, we still have a fondness for Canto and intend to launch there in the future as our multichain ventures progress. However, for the initial launch of this new expansion project (which, again, attempts a system that hasn't been tried in DeFi yet), we want to choose the best chain available. After careful consideration, we have turned our attention to Kava. For those unfamiliar, Kava is a chain composed of two parts: the Cosmos part and the EVM part. The EVM part is a growing ecosystem with several notable projects having recently launched there, such as Equilibre and Mare Finance, setting the standard. It's worth noting that the KAVA RISE program ensures that protocols are rewarded for the TVL they provide. This means that if our potential expansion project succeeds on Kava, we would receive our share of rewards from the Kava Rise incentives program. Those incentives would of course lead to more rewards for our users/more users, and this can create a flywheel of growth for the DAO. We believe that the Kava Rise incentives are the best incentives on all around DeFi, and SpiritDAO moving multichain in an EVM chain with incentives like these looks very appealing to the eye! We have had three meetings with the Kava team, and both parties are enthusiastic about sharing our intention to launch there with the community. However, an issue with Multichain arose, halting bridging transactions on the Kava Chain, causing confusion and panic. For a couple of weeks, there was uncertainty throughout the Kava ecosystem, including our team, who were about to propose the project's launch to the community. But today, the confusion has been resolved, and the Multichain bridge is functioning as intended, returning Kava to its normal state. This means that all Multichain assets on Kava have been successfully bridged, and Kava can once again process inflows and outflows like any regular chain. This is why we have remained silent in the past few weeks, as we had many meetings to attend and were waiting for the situation on Kava to settle. Sorry if the communication in the last few weeks had been problematic, it was because we had to wait on stuff that was out of control. Now that it's finally fixed and the things are calmer over there, we can announce to you what we've been working on behind the scenes in the last month! However, circumstances beyond our control resulted in a "force majeure" situation, forcing us to postpone any actions. We are not simply replicating SpiritSwap; instead, we are venturing into uncharted territory and exploring new ideas. As the custodians of the DAO, we are carefully considering each decision and avoiding hasty and inefficient choices. We hope to share more information with you as time progresses. 🧰 Dev Updates:🧰 🇦 We have received feedback from our users regarding occasional issues with data loading, such as deposited liquidity not being displayed. These problems mostly occur due to the high number of RPC calls our application makes. We have already completed the development of V3 but we have decided to make significant changes to the underlying code foundation in order to implement V3 on a vastly improved infrastructure. The devs are working diligently to prepare it as quickly as possible, and we'll have a much improved app with V3 in play as well! V3 Updates: 🇦 Our plan was to launch V3 this week since all the necessary preparations had been completed, and the moderators had provided feedback to the Algebra team, indicating that everything was going well. However, an unforeseen issue was reported by the Algebra team, which has put us in a holding pattern as we wait for them to resolve the problem. ⚙️ Farms & Gauges UPDATES 📝 Hello @everyone, following the approval of the proposal, we have successfully submitted the PR to eliminate the 15 inactive gauges from both the UI and the voting page. As a result, SpiritSwap is now operating with a streamlined set of 16 efficient gauges. As a result of this adjustment, the active gauges will experience a projected increase in emissions of approximately 19.6%. This impact will occur as users shift their votes from the inactive gauges to the active gauges. The emission weights of the 15 inactive gauges have been effectively reduced to 0. These gauges include: - 'WFTM-COMB' - 'WFTM-CRE8R' - 'WFTM-FXS' - 'WFTM-MIM' - 'WFTM-FRAX' - 'WFTM-TAROT' - 'WFTM-BIFI' - 'WFTM-GALCX' - 'WFTM-RING' - 'WFTM-WPGUNK' - 'WFTM-LINK' - 'WFTM-WBOMB' - 'USDC-BUSD' - 'USDC-ALUSD' - 'USDC-MAI' If you have previously cast your votes for the inactive gauges, please make sure to switch your votes to the active gauges, as your votes on the inactive gauges will no longer have any reward going forward. We are excited about the new structure for our V2 farms, and are looking forward to offering more emissions for our key pairs through having less gauges and therefore more concentrated emissions. 🧰 Dev Updates:🧰 🇦 The expansion project has been submitted for audit and we've received our first review from the audit firm today! At first glance, it looks promising and the UpperOctave + Spirit teams is currently going through each highlighted suggestion to ensure the code is both secure and efficient. 🇧 There is a minor bug that appears to be a visual issue when you click the "claim all" button on the inSPIRIT page. It seems like there's an error when claiming $SPIRIT, but users are still able to claim it. Our developers have been made aware of the bug and are currently working on a swift solution to fix the issue. V3 Updates: 🇦 The V3 code is complete and ready for deployment! The Algebra team just needs to make some final bug fixes and once our team verifies everything again, V3 will be deployed shortly. After the PR which will hopefully be made s👀n, SpiritSwap will be able to offer concentrated liquidity and could potentially become the main hub for concentrated liquidity on the Fantom network! Events: 🇦 Since there was a bug with Charon during the snapshots, we will continue with the Spirits of April Gold Tier Giveaway as we fix the bug.
